If I Run - Terri Blackstock

5 Stars!!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
Casey knows the truth. But it won't set her free.

Casey Cox's DNA is all over the crime scene. There's no use talking to police; they have failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she's arrested . . . or worse. The truth doesn't matter anymore.

But what is the truth? That's the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren't adding up. Casey Cox doesn't fit the profile of a killer. But are Dylan's skewed perceptions keeping him from being objective? If she isn't guilty, why did she run?

Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than he has, but as Dylan's damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices. The girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer . . . or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the most deadly weapon yet.

MY THOUGHTS -
Oh my goodness this book was so good. Every once in a while there is a book that I just can't wait to do the review for. This was one of those books! I loved this book, the whole way from beginning to end. The whole story line really hooked me, reeled me in. I guess it was the excitement of being on the run, changing identity, trying to stay one step ahead of the cops - it was all very exciting to me!

Throw in excellent character development - I loved Casey. What a great character she was - so smart, I loved it! But another surprise for me was how much I also loved, Dylan, the PI. Both characters have such great personalities which Terri so nicely brings out.

The story was so suspenseful. I was reading along and before I  knew it I was at 90% already and I silently screamed "Noooo I don't want it to end!!!" That's how attached I was to Casey! It was definitely un-put-down-able!

Terri, the author left it wide open with a lot of loose ends - for there to be a sequel, hopefully??? If there is one, I am definitely all over it.

I have read a handful of books by Terri in the past (Cape refuge series) and I do remember liking them, but this has got to be my favorite!
