Why I Love Wednesdays... Children's Books
Welcome to Why I Love Wednesdays! This idea comes to you from - "Reflections of a Bookaholic"
Normally I do not do these (although I do always read them) but this one just struck me.
Today's proclamation of love concerns our Favorite Children's Books!
My top 5 favorite childrens books -
1. The Little Prince, by Antoine De Saint-Exupéry
If you have not read this book you must! This is the best book ever. It is very philosophical, it is the kind of book you can read over and over.
2. Heidi, by Johanna Spyri
The very first time I ever read this book was actually when I was a teenager! (I was 16 I think) and I absolutely loved it! I bawled my way through the whole thing. I remember I was somewhere on the Jersey Shore with my grandparents visiting family and all I wanted to do was read this book! My grandmother had to come in and tell me to put the book down and come out to the beach! LOL
Again if you have not read this wonderful book - you should even as an adult!
3. James and the Giant Peace, by Roald Dahl
I don't know why but I just remember that I really loved this book!
4. Ramona the Pest, by Beverly Cleary
Hahaha Yes, I did read all of the Ramona books! They were so cute and funny!
5. Frederick, by Leo Lionni
This a very beautifully written story! Again very philosophical!
So there you have it - My top 5 pick for Children's books.
Please let me know if you have read any of these!

ReplyDeleteI had read the post over at Alexis' blog and I don't know how I forgot about Heidi. I absolutely loved that book and Anne of Green Gables. I forgot about that one too.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE The Little Prince (I even had a character in one of my books read it).
ReplyDeleteHey, was that in the book that I read because I think I remember that.
DeletePosts like these make me want to read all my favorite children's books and relive that time. As if I could. I've read all but the first and last and I certainly agree. Oh and I loved Heidi as well. I think I read that book at the perfect time in my life because I just really connected for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI SO need to read James and the Giant Peach :)
