ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
GENA HAMSHAW, who has written the New Veganism column on Food52 since
2012, is a certified clinical nutritionist and the author of the book Choosing Raw. Gena has been published in O Magazine, VegNews, and Whole Living Daily.
She lives in New York City, where she is completing her masters degree
in nutrition at Columbia University and leads workshops and cooking
classes.
MY REVIEW -
Let me start by saying, I am not Vegan - I am a vegetarian. The difference, in case you don't know is that a Vegan does not eat any animal products (eggs, milk, cheese, etc.) I do eat eggs, cheese and milk products.
I thought this book was an excellent resource! Lots of great recipes. Lots of pictures. There is actually a picture for every recipe. My only negative was a lot of the recipes I personally would not use. A few I would, but really, not many. On the other hand - my daughter loved it! And she thought her and her hubby would use most of the recipes in here. So, just a difference of opinion.

Here are a few recipes I marked -
Baked kale chips - I have always want to do this since I grow kale in my garden
Crispy roasted chickpeas - I don't grow chickpeas, but they just sounded yummy!
Peach crumble coffee cake
Creamy tomato soup - I am a big soup person!
Sweet potato and peanut stew with kale
Zucchini quinoa cakes
Chai-spiced bread pudding
I plan on passing along my copy of this to my daughter who will enjoy it much more than I will.
I would actually love to try one of the author's other books - "Choosing Raw: Making Raw Foods Part of the Way You Eat" This one looks great!

I haven't written my review yet. I have the ebook format. We really enjoyed the 'Snow Pea, Cabbage, Mizuna Salad with Smokey Tempeh' Great summer main dish salad! I used Arugula instead of Mizuna.
