ABOUT THE BOOK -
Lily Revere is free-spirited and fun-loving-two dangerous qualities in a
witch. Lily needs a date for her sister Anica's engagement party, and
she's determined to bring hot Griffin Taylor. But the jaded divorce
lawyer claims his job has warned him off romance. Slipping a love elixir
into Griffin's drink may not be the noble thing to do-but it sure
works! There's just one problem: Are Griffin's feelings the result of
some truly good witchcraft-or could he really be in love?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
A romance writing career has brought Vicki Lewis Thompson many wonderful things—New York Times
bestseller status, an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly, the Nora
Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award from Romance Writers of America,
thousands of readers, many dear friends, and the cutest little yellow
convertible in the world. Her career has also given her work she loves.
Although she’s written more than a hundred books, she continues to be
fascinated by the many ways that a man and a woman fall in love. The
age-old story remains a challenging puzzle to be solved anew with each
book. That makes her a very lucky person, indeed.
MY REVIEW -
If you are into hot sexy witch books - then you will like this series (Babes on Brooms). Last fall I read "Blonde with a Wand" which was also a cute book. In my opinion you do not really have to read both books - they can be read as stand-alone books. These are the only 2 books I have read by this Author, but my friend Jen swears I would like her werewolf series!
The first book centered around a cat theme, this one a dog theme. Even though I am a "cat person" I did think this book was kinda cute. It was original, that's for sure! I loved that these books are about sisters and how they try to help each other out. While not one of my favorite witchy books, it did keep my interest and I did really want to find out how it ended.
There is explicit sex in this book - I had to cover my eyes and read between my fingers in more than one place. The rest of the story, the parts I didn't have to cover my eyes for, was a cute story. It all came together nicely. I liked the ending. It had real good character development. The main characters were kind of shallow - I mean to think you can put a "Dog spell" on a man to make him fall in live with you like your dog does... But, that said it is a fiction book and just meant to be fun, not serious and true to life. I actually like those kind of books, the ones that are just silly and would never happen in real life. They are the books that take you away on a fantasy journey. And that's what this book did.
These books would definitely be for adults. And if you are really put off by Sex in books then either read with your shut or don't read it. Or do what I did - just skim through the parts you don't like and enjoy the rest!

Though this is not really my kind of book, I did like reading your take on it. It sounds like the perfect read for those readers who prefer their urban fiction a little less dark. Great review today!
