Mind Games - Christine Amsden (Gift card giveaway!)
ABOUT THE BOOK -
Evan broke Cassie's heart two months ago, and she still doesn't know
why. She throws herself into family, friends and her new job at the
sheriff's department, but nothing helps. The only thing that finally
allows her to heal and move on is the love of a new man, mind mage
Matthew Blair. Cassie finds him... irresistible.
Matthew may also be the only one who can help keep the non-magical residents of Eagle Rock from going crazy over the murder of a beloved pastor's wife. It looks like a sorcerer is to blame, but while Cassie tries to figure out who, others take matters into their own hands. With tensions running so hot, a single spark might set Eagle Rock ablaze. Book 3 in the Cassie Scot series.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
Christine has been writing science fiction and fantasy for as long as
she can remember. She loves to write and it is her dream that others
will be inspired by this love and by her stories. Speculative fiction is
fun, magical, and imaginative but great speculative fiction is about
real people defining themselves through extraordinary situations.
Christine writes primarily about people and it is in this way that she
strives to make science fiction and fantasy meaningful for everyone.
At the age of 16, Christine was diagnosed with Stargardt's Disease, a condition that effects the retina and causes a loss of central vision. She is now legally blind, but has not let this slow her down or get in the way of her dreams.
In addition to writing, Christine teaches workshops on writing at Savvy Authors. She also does some freelance editing work.
Christine currently lives in the Kansas City area with her husband, Austin, who has been her biggest fan and the key to her success. They have two beautiful children.

MY REVIEW -
I liked this one the best so far. I am not sure if I really liked it that much better or if I just knew the characters that much better after the first two books. But I did enjoy it more. It seemed like there was more of a mystery and more action. And by this time I really knew Cassie and her family - she has really grown on me. I liked her for all her stubbornness! And I'm not sure if you are suppose to or not, but I really liked Evan! The problem is, you really don't know who you can trust in these books!
There is lots of action in this one and lots of paranormal action - you won't get bored. There is also a nice little mystery and a little love. I liked how the whole town is full of magic, it reminded me a lot of Barbara Bretton's Sugar Maple Series (which is one of my favorite series).
This series is a nice set to read for the summer! They are fun, fast moving, light, and has something to offer everyone. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Thank you Christine Amsden for sending me this e-book free for my honest review! I hope I get to read the forth one - "Stolen Dreams", which is the conclusion to the series - coming soon!

It would be cool to be able to read someone's mind, but I'm imagining after a while I wouldn't always want to know what people are thinking! Ha!
ReplyDeleteThanks host being part of my review! Glad you're still enjoying the series. I can't wait to see what people think of the conclusion!
