Millie's Fling, by Jill Mansell

 4 STARS

About the book -
When Millie Brady saves Orla Hart's life she doesn't realise how drastically it will change her own - not least because the boyfriend who was proposing at the time stormed off in a huff. Actually, Millie's relieved. She's happy to enjoy a man-free summer in Cornwall. But Orla has other ideas. She's determined that Millie should meet the man of her dreams. Trouble is, Millie's taste in men doesn't tally with Orla's. The one who really interests her is Hugh Emerson, and he's the man with whom Orla's adamant she mustn't get involved...

My review -
Well this book was a nice little surprise! For the first 1/4 of the book I was planning on giving this a 3 star rating, but it surprised me. I read the last 200 pages in almost one sitting. This was a nice, cute, funny, light, Chick-Lit (British) book. Normally I do not like British books, they are just not my thing. This did bother me a little bit at first, but once I was into it I kinda got used to it and it wasn't so bad. I really liked all the characters, everyone was very likable, especially Orla, Hugh, Millie and her roomy. Oh and I loved Con! He was a secretly gay man who everyone was trying to fix Millie up with. He was such a sweetheart and a great addition to the story. Great Character development!
This would make a great summer read, since it is light and funny. There is no real explicit sex but lots of talk of sex so I wouldn't recommend it for young readers, I think there are a few swear word too. But nothing that bothered me too much. Jill Mansell has written several books and I wouldn't hesitate to read another one.

I read this on my nook, so this counts for my e-reading challenge. I got this when it was a free download, now it is $7.99 - HERE
