The Final Hour, By Andrew Klavan - Book review
5 STARS!!!!!
About the book -
The Homelanders are attacking—and it's Charlie's last chance to stop them.Charlie West was an ordinary high school kid who went to bed one night and woke up in the clutches of terrorists and wanted by the police for murder. He also woke up with no memory of the events of the last year.
His memory is returning now and has brought the terrible realization that he knows when the terrorists are going to strike next.
Whatever it takes, Charlie knows he can't give in or give up until they're stopped . . . even when the final hour is ticking away.
My review -
An absolutely amazing ending to the 4 book series. I was so excited to be able to read and review the final book. I have fully enjoyed every page of this 4 book series.
All along the way I have said that Charlie West is like a teenage James Bond. This book starts out like "Prison Break" (the TV series), then goes to "Top Gun" then ending with "Mission Impossible". Andrew Klavan does for Action/Suspense what Stephen King does for Horror.
This book was nothing short of Brilliant! I read it in just 2 days, I was totally unable to put it down.
And don't think it is just a "guy book"! I was in tears at the end, crying out "Oh no!". I don't think I have ever gripped a book so tight, Oh yeah! I did - the first 3 books! LOL
There are some great one-liners in this book -
"Maybe life would be easier if we were all just God-zombies doing what was right automatically, But no one ever said freedom was easy."
"That's convenient anyway. Its always easier to pick out the bad guys when they are dressed in black."
"Maybe that's why he had such a colorful rug: so the bloodstains wouldn't show."
And this kind of sums up the whole series -
"I have been tortured by terrorists; I've been shot at by the police; I've been taken away from my home, my family, my girl, just about everything I loved. But I don't think I'd ever felt quite so desperately far away from everything good and bright in the world as I felt just at that moment surrounded by the smiling approval of this gang of racist madmen."
I am really looking forward to reading more by Andrew Klavan
