THE BAKER'S WIFE by Erin Healy
When her husband Geoff, a pastor, lost his job after a scandal rocked their congregation, Audrey's never lost faith.
They decide to resurrect a failing bakery as a way to heal family wounds and restore their place in the community.
Running late to
the bakery one foggy morning, Audrey strikes a vehicle. Emerging from
her car into the fog, she discovers she hit a motor scooter. But there’s
no rider in sight. Just blood.
The absence of
the driver is a mystery, especially to Sergeant Jack Mansfield, the
detective and church member responsible for firing Geoff from his
pulpit. The scooter belongs to Jack’s wife, Julie, a teacher at the
local high school, who has vanished…like morning fog.
Though there is
no evidence to support Jack’s growing suspicion that Audrey and Geoff
were involved in Julie’s disappearance, the detective is convinced of
their guilt. When he takes the tiny bakery and its patron’s
hostage, Audrey must unravel the secret of Julie’s disappearance and her
own mysterious suffering before Jack hits his breaking point.
Welcome to East Salem. A deceptively sleepy town where ancient supernatural forces are being awakened.
A local
high-school girl is found murdered in a park amid horse farms and
wealthy homes of northern Westchester County, New York. The shocking
manner of her death confounds the town and intrigues forensic
psychiatrist Dani Harris, who is determined to unravel the mystery. All
the suspects are teenagers who were at a party with the girl—yet none
remembers what happened. Could one of them be a vicious killer? Or is
something more sinister afoot—something tied to an ancient evil?
But it’s not
just her waking hours that challenge Dani. Each night, her eyes open at
2:13 due to troubling dreams. Dreams filled with blood, water, and
destruction. Is it a clue—or a supernatural sign?
Across town,
former NFL linebacker Tommy Gunderson finds his state-of-the-art
security system has been breached by an elderly woman. Mumbling threats
in Latin, she attacks him with an uncanny, preternatural strength.
Before he has time to process the attack, someone close to him is
implicated in the girl’s murder at the park. He agrees to help—and finds
himself working with Dani, the only girl who could resist his charms
years ago when they were in high school.
A heavy darkness is spreading. Yet a heavenly force is also at work.
It will take
astute analysis and forensic skills to solve the crime. But Dani and
Tommy suspect there’s more the the mystery than murder, more to their
growing friendship than chance . . . and more to the evil they’re facing
than a mere human killer.
Katie Ann lost the love of her life. Then God offers her a new beginning in Colorado.
Katie Ann
Stolzfus lives in the small Amish community of Canaan, Colorado. At
forty she is widowed and raising her first child. But baby Jonas will
never know his father, and Katie Ann wonders if her Heavenly Father
hasn't forgotten about her as well. Is it really God's plan for her to
be a single parent?
Eli Detweiler
has come to Canaan for a wedding and a long vacation. Having raised six
children following the death of his young wife, Eli is finally an
empty-nester. He's enjoying the slower pace of having no one to care for
but himself.
When Katie Ann
and Eli meet, there is an instant connection. Yet as strong as the
attraction is, they both acknowledge that a romance would never work. He
is done parenting, while she has just begun.
But as their
friendship slowly blossoms into feelings that are as frightening as they
are intoxicating, Katie Ann and Eli question if the plans they made for
themselves are in line with God's plans.
Can Katie Ann entrust her heart to another man, and rediscover the wonder of God's love?
THERE YOU'LL FIND ME by Jenny B. Jones
Grief brought Finley to Ireland. LOVE WILL LEAD HER HOME.
Finley Sinclair
is not your typical eighteen-year-old. She’s witty, tough, and driven.
With an upcoming interview at the Manhattan music conservatory, Finley
needs to compose her audition piece. But her creativity disappeared with
the death of her older brother, Will.
She decides to
study abroad in Ireland so she can follow Will’s travel journal. It’s
the place he felt closest to God, and she’s hopeful being there will
help her make peace over losing him. So she agrees to an exchange
program and boards the plane.
Beckett Rush,
teen heartthrob and Hollywood bad boy, is flying to Ireland to finish
filming his latest vampire movie. On the flight, he meets Finley. She’s
the one girl who seems immune to his charm. Undeterred, Beckett
convinces her to be his assistant in exchange for his help as a tour
guide.
Once in Ireland,
Finley starts to break down. The loss of her brother and the pressure
of school, her audition, and whatever it is that is happening between
her and Beckett, leads her to a new and dangerous vice. When is God
going to show up for her in this emerald paradise?
Then she
experiences something that radically changes her perspective on life.
Could it be God convincing her that everything she’s been looking for
has been with her all along?
SUNRISE ON THE BATTERY by Beth Webb Hart
Now that she’s arrived at her ultimate address, will Mary Lynn’s longed-for view of the harbor satisfy the craving of her heart?
At last, Mary
Lynn and Jackson Scoville are living the life they’ve dreamed of. Two
self-described “small town bumpkins” from Round O, South Carolina, they
made a small fortune selling the little gems of lowcountry real estate
Jackson inherited and now they are living in the heart of Charleston,
South Carolina, carefully working their way up the social ladder in
hopes of meeting their ultimate goal: to give their three daughters the
life they themselves never had.
But the
long-forgotten God of Mary Lynn’s childhood seems to be trying to get
her attention in clear and unusual ways. So clear and strange she can
no longer deny it. When Mary Lynn prays for Jackson to open his mind
and heart to God, her prayers are answered beyond her wildest
imaginings. Now Jackson’s dramatic conversion (which includes street
witnessing, giving away a lot of money, and inviting poor, desperate and
marginalized people into their home) is threatening their social status
as well as their family mission statement. Is she willing to go along
with him?
What would it be
like to go “all out” for God? Jackson, a sharp and focused Type A man,
is unafraid and willing to go all the way. Mary Lynn has her doubts.

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping I can request it too =D
Hmm...I'm going to go with The Baker's Wife, because that one I can't decide if I'd want to read or not -- and seeing someone else's review could help me decide, haha :o) The two I *definitely* want to read for myself are There You'll Find Me and Sunrise on the Battery, and am hoping I can snag one of them... :o)
