MY REVIEW -
AWWWWW! I loved this book! It got very mixed reviews (between 2 & 5 stars) but I absolutely loved it. Other reviewers said it was not her best, well if this isn't her best... I really want to read more from her!!! I loved everything about it. The cover on this book is gorgeous! It is even prettier in person!
It takes place on the Islands North West of Seattle WA., Friday Harbor to be exact. And I checked - it is a real place. The description of the Island, the Ferry, and the houses is just fabulous. There is also a little bit of history, like how Friday Harbor got its name.
"The original hardwood floors had been covered with linoleum or shag carpeting you could actually lie on and make rug angels."
I loved the characters in this story. The character development was great! What also made this so real to me was the conversation. These were conversations that could have really taken place, they seemed so real to me. Almost like I was eavesdropping.
"I like knowing that in one cup of coffee, you're getting flavors from places most of us will never get to see. The Tanzanian foothills of Kilimanjaro, the Indonesian islands, Colombia, Ethiopia, Brazil, Cameroon... I like it that a truck driver can have just as good a cup of coffee as a millionaire."
This book made me giggle a lot but it was also very heartfelt and kinda sad. I love that it could be both sad and make you feel good at the same time. The ending was great! In parts I was giggling so hard I tears rolling down ,my face and in others I was saying "AWWWWW"!
This is not a Christian book. - there is one sex scene - but not very graphic, and there is minor swearing.
