2011 reading Statistics

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

In 2011 I read a total of 117 books! (last year I read 84).
30,311 pages!

Of those books read -
35-  were e-books
101 - were written by women! (Told you I prefer female Authors)
16 - Historical
35 - were Christian
6 - were Amish
23 - were Paranormal/magical realism/etc.
8 - were Non-fiction

27 - 5 stars
12 - 4 1/2 stars
54 - 4 stars
4 - 3 1/2 stars
17 - 3 stars
4 - 2 stars

Why are there so  many Highly rated books (4 stars and above)?
Because, believe it or not - I am very picky with what I read! I only read books that I really think I am going to like. My time is precious, I do not have time to read crappy books, LOL.
So I do not choose to read books that do not look like something I would enjoy. I have no problem turning down books.

Some of my top favorite books were -
Left Neglected - Lisa Genova
Friendship Bread - Darien Gee
Deamonglass - Rachel Hawkins (Hex Hall book)
The Priest's Graveyard - Ted Dekker
Mad Love - Suzanne Selfors
Forgotten - Cat Patrick
Home to Woefield - Susan Juby
The Last Little Blue Envelope - Maureen Johnson
A Discovery of Witches - Deborah Harkness

Some books I am looking forward to in 2012 -
Spell Bound (Hex Hall #3) coming out in Mar
A Discovery of Witches #2 (I believe the name is - Shadow of Night, let me know if I am wrong) coming out in July.
Spells and Stitches (Sugar Maple Series #4) I already have this!!!!! came out in Dec. 2011
Revived - Cat Patrick's new book, coming out in May

  2. you left me in the dust this year! Im going to try to get to 100 next year, that is about the only thing I will strive for. I will still probably read more male authors than female, I don't know why that is. Congrats on a productive year.
