Fun Friday!

Fun Friday was created because it is a fun way to end the week (and a place to post all the left over fun stuff that doesn't fit into other posts).

I was "Unofficially" tagged by Jen - "At Random"
I actually don't mind doing these, they are kinda fun! They are a great way to get to know people better.
Here are the questions she asked -

1.    What is the first book you remember reading that really stuck with you?
"James and The Giant Peach" and "Heidi", James was the first book I really remember enjoying and having fun with. Heidi I actually read as a young teenage and LOVED it! I could not put it down. I recommend that if you have not read Heidi, read it now as an adult!

2.      What is your go to genre? That one genre that can always snap you out off a book slump?
Historical Fiction! I always say that reading Historical Fiction is like coming home! It is where I feel comfortable. My daughter always said I was born at the wrong time period - I should have lived in the 1800's that is were my heart is.

3.      If you’re a blogger, what is your favorite thing about your blog? A certain meme? Your layout?
Hmmm good question... I guess just connection with people. Talking with the Authors, turning people on to books they would not have heard of otherwise. Getting to know new Authors I would not have tried. And of course - the books!

4.      As a blog reader, what attracts you to a blog?
OK I am really glad you asked me this! I like a blog with pictures, pictures of the book covers (yes I judge a book by its cover) and pictures of the Author, and even trailer videos (yes I do watch them!).
If a blog is all words and no picture I tend to skip it! Ok there it is! the truth! I also do not care for a REALLY LOOOOONG review.
OH! LOL and I also like a rating - bottom line - quick how many stars - cut to the chase!

5.      If you could get a signed/personalized book from any author who would it be?
Ted Dekker or Joshilyn Jackson!!!

6.      If you could have any book character as a roommate who would you pick and why?
Really, I don't tend to cling to characters from book to book, so this is a hard question to answer. The Sugar Maple Series by Barbra Bretton was one of my favorite series. I will be reading the 4th book in May. I loved Chloe the main character of that book so I would choose her. She is fun and quirky , strong but sweet.

7.      Do you prefer to cozy up and read or read on the go?
I would have to say I do both. I do hunker down and cozy up for the night and read usually all evening (during the commercials, if it is a real good book I usually read through the show too! that's what DVR is for). But I also read on the go. I ALWAYS take a book with me everywhere! Anytime I have a free minute I read.

8.      What is your favorite bookmark?
MMMM you know I have over 100 right?
I know this sounds strange and a little OCD but I very carefully choose a new bookmark for each book. I usually try to match the bookmark to the book.
If I am reading a Romance - I choose a Romance bookmark
If reading a Historical - I choose a Historical bookmark
I have a bookmark for every book!
That is the one thing I don't like about the nook - I don't get to choose a bookmark.

9.      Do you like to set reading goals for yourself?
YEP! I didn't used to. Just the past few years, well ever since sites like Shelfari and Goodreads started keeping track of what I read and taunted me with - "You are behind your reading pace of last year!" and " Last year you read ____ you are now ahead of your pace!" Oh yippie!

10.   If so, what goals do you have for 2012?
LOL more than last year!?!  Last year I read 116 books, so I need to read 117 books! According to Shelfari I am already ahead of my pace!!!! LOL
