MY REVIEW -
I really liked this book a lot. I thought it was a great (but sad at times) storyline. It had very good character development. I really felt like I knew Willa and even the rest of her family. I had no problem picturing the story as it unfolded.
This is a very sad story and it really makes you feel for Willa and wonder what would you do and how would you feel if you were her, but it also made me think of her mother! There is another side to this story besides just Willa's. I am reading this as a parent and thinking - if my ex-husband just murdered his current wife and children (and might be coming after us) what would I do?!!! How might I react? And how would I feel if my daughter wanted to go to their funerals.
The only problems I had with the story was - it was a teensie bit slow in parts.
And - It really seemed like more of an adult book to me rather than a YA. Not because of anything inappropriate! But just because I don't think it had real "teen appeal". So I think it is more of a YA book for adults. Some teens might like it, but... I guess its just not your usual vampire love, werewolf, teen romance, LOL. If you have a daughter who would like to read something different, this might be for her.

I don't remember anything bad in this - no swearing (that I remember) and no sex - so good for any age!

  1. I am not usually a fan of this genre, but something about this book sounds interesting, and like it would appeal to my daughter. She doesn't always need vampires and werewolves to be happy! Great review today!
