 MY REVIEW -
Wow! Incredible Story. This book starts right off being great. It had me sucked in at the Preface! I don't think I took a breath the whole first 3 pages.
"I know the exact moment I went wrong. Three weeks, two days, twenty-two hours, and thirty three minutes ago.
I had no clue a few small decisions could puncture the perfect bubble of my existence.
I zigzag through the forest's brown pillars like I'm barrel riding in a local rodeo. The internal rhythm keeps me running at a steady speed along the broken path. Left, right, left, right. My muffled breath echoes in my ears, making me feel as if I'm underwater. Sinking. Drowning.
Don't stop, Grace, or you will die."
The Author had great character development. Grace is a wonderful teen that has been dealt a terrible situation that no teen should have to endure - The disappearance of her father. You really get to know Grace and her strong personality as you journey with her through the woods she and her dad knew so well.

But what really impressed me about this story was the development of the settings, along with the beautiful descriptive writing she uses to do so. I had no problem seeing myself right there in the forest with Grace.
"The Arnold Schwarzenegger of ants pops out from under a stick, lugging a dead beetle ten times his size. No matter how much he struggles, he never gives up. Another lesson to me from Mother Nature herself."
I love books about people lost in the wilderness, search and rescue type books. To me they are so exciting and this book did not disappoint me! It was very exciting, sad, and.... a little love story thrown in there!

There were a few other books and shows this book reminded me of - The TV show - "The River" (only this book wasn't as scary as that show! about a family searching for their Father/Husband in the Amazon), The book "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" by Stephan King (excellent book about a girl getting lost for days in the Maine woods!) and one of my favorite books - "Lost in the Amazon" by Stephen Kirkpatrick (a true story of a photographer and his crew getting lost in the Amazon jungle for I think over a week).
The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was I feel it got a little carried away towards the end -  little too much action making it feel unbelievable. But the actual ending was great! And left you hanging, wanting more. I sure hope I get to read and review the next book! I have to know what happens!

Thank you S. R. Johannes for giving me this e-book to read and review! I really really enjoyed it!
