Short-Straw Bride, by Karen Witemeyer (Review & Giveaway)

4.5 Stars!!!
ABOUT THE BOOK -
Four brothers. Four straws. One bride.

No one steps on Archer land. Not if they value their life. But when Meredith Hayes overhears a plot to burn the Archer brothers off their ranch, a long-standing debt compels her to take the risk.

Years of constant vigilance hardens a man. Yet when Travis Archer comes across a female trespasser with the same vivid blue eyes as the courageous young girl he once aided, he can't bring himself to send her away. And when an act of sacrifice leaves her injured and her reputation in shreds, gratitude and guilt prompt him to attempt to rescue her once again.

Despite the fact that Travis is no longer the gallant youth Meredith once dreamed about, she vows to stand by his side. But will love ever be hers? Or will Travis always see her as merely a short-straw bride?

MY REVIEW -
CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!!! This may just be the sweetest book I have ever read! I thought this was the second book by Karen I had read, but I guess not, its the first! Well I definitely need to read them all if this is any indication of what they are like. Many parts of this book gave me goosebumps and I swear there were a couple spots where I think I was actually blushing. There was no sex, but she has such a way of writing that it was so romantic. I felt like I shouldn't be looking. Every time I opened this book to read I had a smile on my face! The only reason for the .5 deduction was got a teenie bit long in the middle and the ending was a little confusing (so much happening at once).
Loved the character development. I loved Meredith right from the start, she was cute, spunky, brave, and hopelessly in love, sigh! I also loved Travis Archer, again what a cutie! Sweet man, protective, kind, gentle, and hopelessly in love but took a while to realize it.

Karen has a great writing style - easy to read, fun, quirky, and very romantic.
"Meredith smiled at her cousin - "So, dear fairy godmother, did you bring me glass slippers, too?'
Cassandra laughed. 'Didn't you hear? Glass slippers went out of fashion last century. All the fairy godmothers are providing kid leather nowadays."
THE ALL-IN-ALL -
All in all this is a very clean, Christian, cute sweet, funny, original romance that will certainly warm your heart and make you fall in love with the characters. Great for any age.
And - I loved the cute cover!
