MY REVIEW -
I am loving Linda Weaver Clark more and more. She is just a simple, down home kind of writer. And I like that kind of writing. She writes the kind of stuff that is just about everyday life, stuff you can relate to. Even if you are not a christian - it is still stuff you all can relate to and use in your everyday lives.
This is a short (69 pages) collection of... thoughts, really. Thoughts about life, about marriage, parenthood, friendship, happiness, just about anything. She back up her thoughts with either her own real life experiences or quotes and stories from others.

This is just a real nice, simple, enjoyable read that will make you think and feel good.
A few quotes -
"When we're feeling discontent, we tend to think a change in our lives is the answer to happiness. But after landing that new job or moving into a new home, are we truly happy? That may not be the answer we hoped for. We need to make our own happiness and enjoy what we have."
I agree with this. Yes, sometimes a change is just what we need. But sometimes we are looking for a quick fix and think that if we make a move it will be the answer to all our problems. Well sometimes what we end up with is a new job and a new home with the same old problems. I think the change has to start within us first!
"Have we given up something important to attend our children's functions? We can't afford to let our children go astray because we don't take time for them. This is what family is all about."
I have always said that being a parent is a full time job. There is no Part time parenting. If you are not ready to give up your life to parent a child, then you are not ready to have that child! So many people think they want to have a baby (or that a baby will fix their marriage) but then they still want the same old life - going out, partying, full time job with late hours and it is the children that suffer. I feel very strongly about this. Not everyone is meant to be a parent! And I have a lot of respect for those women who don't want to give up their lives to have a baby and admit it, good for you for making that choice!

There are so many other chapters that were good but I can't comment on everything or this review would be VERY long!

THE ALL-IN-ALL -
All in all this may be a short book but it has a lot to say! This would be a nice gift for someone - a best friend, a daughter, a mother, or just for yourself.
