A Christmas Homecoming by Maryann Diorio

3 Stars

When Sonia Pettit's teenage daughter suddenly disappears for seven long years, Sonia faces losing her mind, her husband, and her son as she struggles to forgive her wayward daughter and trust God for her return.
Her greatest desire is to have her family together at Christmas, but after what Jody has put them all through, can Sonia truly forgive her daughter?

Jody Pettit O'Dair ran away to experience a life of adventure and excitement, but since her departure, her world has been turned upside down.
Will Jody find forgiveness in the arms of her family as easily as she received it from God?

This story was a nice Christmas read. It was sweet, short and happy, just what I like at Christmastime. Unfortunately it was also a little slow and uneventful for me. I did enjoy this story, I just didn't love it. I am glad it was a short story I don't think I would have liked it as much if it were longer.
I liked the character development alright, I didn't feel like I knew them real well but good enough.
"Hilda's eyes grew wide. "T'ain't no mother on earth in her right mind wouldn't  welcome a child who'd been gone, regardless of the reason." ~ Amen!
This was a nice, feelgood, clean, quick read.
