Christmas in Sugarcreek - Shelley Shepard Gray (4 Stars)
This book is part of a series and I own 2 of the other book but have not read them. Even though I did not know the characters I still enjoyed this book.
This was really a story about 3 different sets of people and it flipped back and forth. I was a little confused at first, but as I continued and got to know the characters I enjoyed it more. She did have good character development. I really liked one of the characters more than the others - Judith, but I did like them all.
It is a very sweet and clean story. If you like stories about Amish or Mennonite you would enjoy this. Sometime later this year I will go back and read the other 2 books I have in the series.

The Magical Christmas Cat - Lora Leigh, Erin McCarthy, Nalini Singh, Linda Winstead Jones (4 Stars)
This is a book of 4 separate short stories. All of them have something to do with cats and something to do with Christmas, and all are highly Paranormal with some graphic sex. That all being said - I did really enjoy most of these!
This first story was a leopard shapeshifter. It was fun and I kinda like shape shifter stories anyway. The next was about Witches (and you know I like witch stories). The third was about a Cat demon inside a jade cat figurine wanting to take the soul of a woman. Believe it or not I think I enjoyed this story the best.
The last story was about a breed enforcer??? Yeah I just couldn't get into this one in the beginning. I might have like it if I had stuck with it but - It was a DNF for me.

The Christmas Wedding - James Patterson (4.5 Stars)
Loved this one! It had some minor swearing and "weed smoking" in it LOL but other than that, pretty clean.
It was mainly about Gabby - getting all her children together for a Christmas Wedding. Who's wedding? Her's - its who she is marrying that is the mystery. It is a toss up between 3 very important men in her life. She will announce "the winner" on Christmas day, the day of the wedding.
During this book you get to know Gabby and her 3 suitors, as well as all of Gabby's children.
Claire, and her druggie, alcoholic, jerk of a husband Hank, and their 2 kids (one of them a teen son who is headed down the same path as his father). Loved Claire, and probably connected with her the most. I think she was my favorite.
Emily a lawyer and her Dr. husband Bart. She is a very busy, high profile lawyer who gets hit on several times by her boss. She has to decide just how happy she really is.
Seth and his girlfriend Andie, Seth is eagerly awaiting to publish his first novel but is finding out just how hard it can be. I loved his girlfriend Andie - she was cute, sweet and a little hippie, my kinda girl.
Lizzie, her husband Mike and their daughter. This was the saddest scenario! Mike has brain cancer, but he is in great spirits about the whole thing and Lizzie is a great wife, very supportive! I loved them both.
All I can say is great book - I highly recommend it!

  1. I find it interesting on the different directions James Patterson has taken with his writing. I'm still used to only seeing the Alex Cross series from him.

    1. Yes I was surprised at first back when he wrote "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas" but it was excellent! I have read a few of the Alex Cross book and loved them as well. I have always wanted to try the Woman's Murder Club books. Have you read any of those?

    2. No, I've only read his Alex Cross books. I do want to try the Woman's Murder Club as well along with the Maximum Ride series.

  2. The kitty cover has sex? I would never have guessed that. Seriously. No pun intended. :)
