MY REVIEW -
This is an awesome cookbook! I was drooling just reading the recipes.
Lets start with the gorgeous pictures since they are so eye catching. There are pictures of the food, pictures of the step-by-step instructions, and many "local" pictures of New England. I think there are pictures on almost every page. And you all know how I am about having pictures in my cookbooks - its a MUST!

Here is just a sample of the chapters and a list of a few of the recipes -
Chapter 1 - Breakfast treats
Chapter 4 - Soups, Stews, and Chowders (one of my faves)
Chapter 9 - Fish and Seafood (another of my faves)
Chapter 11 - Pasta Rice  Grans and Legumes
Even desserts! This cookbook has it all! There are over 300 pages. I can't even tell you haw many recipes there are.
So for a list of a few recipes -
~ Old Maine Black Bread, New England Popovers, Peppermint Mocha Coffee, Yankee Seafood Bisque, Lobster Stew (Oh my gosh! are you kidding me?), Oven Roasted Rosemary Potatoes, Crab Stuffed Flounder, Pan Seared Maple Scallops, Grilled Shrimp with Tropical Rice, Down Home Macaroni and Cheese.
Oh my gosh, the list goes on and on!
And don't worry - if its not the seafood you are feelin' there are lots of chicken and beef and pork recipes too, as well as lots of Veggie ones.
I would say this is probably one of the most perfect and versatile cookbooks there is! There are recipes for every family here. But I am a seafood lover. So I was in Heaven looking st this book. And all the recipes look pretty simple and basic.

Are you hungry yet?

Even though I have this on my nook I think I am going to ask for the hard copy for my birthday!

Thank you NetGalley for this e-book to read and review!

  2. Oh my goodness, is that lobster macaroni? It looks fantastic! I need to get my hands on this one when I can. It sounds like a winner all around. And even though I am preferring veggies and fruits right now, I just know that the feeling for meat and seafood will come upon me again soon. Excellent and wonderful review today! I need this one!

  3. Thank you so much for everyones kind words. It truly means a lot to me. I am going to ask a favor of you although. I am extremely embarrassed of my website right now. I have in the middle of having it completely overhauled so may I suggest everyone to visit my blog instead, at least for the time being. theyankeechef.blogspot.com. I have many hundreds of recipes there and it is much easier to navigate.
Again, (if I knew your name, I would be more personable)thank you for the 5-stars and keep an eye out hopefully within the next year on some network for a show with me and another well known chef. Not giving away her name yet because she hasn't committed, but even if she doesn't, I will go forward without her. Hugs to everyone(I know that isn't very manly but I am a very friendly person.
