MY REVIEW -
I have to start by saying that this book was not what I expected. So I gave it a lower rating based on that. If I had been expecting this kind of book I would probably rated it higher. I was expecting a book with lots of pictures of creative storage ideas - shelves, pretty boxes etc. Instead, this was more of a "self-help" book (no pictures), it was more of a how to be a better clutter-free you. Which was fine! Just not what I really wanted at the time.
I am a fanatic about organization so I didn't really feel like I needed this book. Even though this book was not what I was looking for, it did have some good ideas (and I did read the whole thing!).
I loved the idea about "The 10 minute tidy". You basically set a timer and see how much tidying you can get done in 10 minutes. This idea is great if you have a very busy schedule. And if you do this everyday, I think you will be amazed at how much neater your place can be.
I am also a huge fan of the "Stow as you go".
"We've all heard the saying "If you get it out, put it back". That's a good start. But it doesn't go far enough. It should be extended to say "If you get it out, put it back... where it belongs. Immediately!"I was always trying to instill this thought into my hubby and my daughter. I always told them - It will only take you about 10 seconds to put it back, but later it will take you 10 min. along with everything else you left laying around. 10 seconds - now/10 min. - later. To me it seems simple! Well I guess you can always use your "10 min. tidy" to put back all the things that you didn't "Stow as you go"! LOL
