Eyes Wide Open - Ted Dekker

5 Stars!!!!!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
Who am I?

My name is Christy Snow. I'm seventeen and I'm about to die.

I'm buried in a coffin under tons of concrete. No one knows where I am. My heart sounds like a monster with clobber feet, running straight toward me. I'm lying on my back, soaked with sweat from the hair on my head to the soles of my feet. My hands and feet won't stop shaking.

Some will say that I m not really here. Some will say I'm delusional. Some will say that I don t even exist. But who are they? I'm the one buried in a grave.

My name is Christy Snow. I'm seventeen. I'm about to die.

So who are you?

In a return to the kind of storytelling that made Black, Showdown and Three unforgettable, Ted Dekker drags that question into the light with this modern day parable about how we see ourselves.

Humming with intensity and blindsided twists, Eyes Wide Open is raw adrenaline from the first page to the last pure escapism packed with inescapable truth. Not all is as it seems. Or is it? Strap yourself in for the ride of your life. Literally.

MY REVIEW -
First let me remind you that Ted Dekker is one of my favorite authors. Second, let me tell you - OH MY GOSH, this book was freaky! After every book I read by Ted Dekker I think it can't possibly get any freakier than this, and he proves me wrong everytime!

This was an "on the edge of your seat" book if I ever read one. There were twists and turns at every other page. Just as soon as you think you have it all figured out, nope, it changes and starts all over again.

The character development, as usual for Ted Dekker, is excellent. Oh my word, I was so scared for both of them. I felt like I really knew them and I just wanted them to get out of there and be safe. His descriptions were so vivid I felt like I was watching a movie in my mind.
Scary, suspenseful stuff at its very best!

If you have never tried a Ted Dekker book, this one is a great one to try - it is short and cheap. You can get the full version (all 4 sections in one) or read them one at a time (which is what I did). Let me tell you it is absolutely worth the purchase. Once you read these you will want to read everything else he has written.
