MY REVIEW -
Well this was NOT my favorite book of the series! It is disappointing to be giving the forth book in the "Friday Harbor" series only a 3 star rating! I loved the other books so much. I had such mixed feelings about this book. The main character - Justine, is a witch, which was great but... there was just too much other stuff I didn't like about the book.

First of all - WAAAAAY too much sex! and pretty graphic too. I could have totally done with out all the tied-up bondage stuff. Did Lisa feel like she need to compete with "Fifty Shades of Gray"? Yuck! And the fact that is was way out in left field and totally misplaced, like everything was pretty much normal and then... that. Unnecessary, if you ask me. Even if I am not a fan of graphic sex, it would have been much better without that one scene.

I liked Justine, but I wasn't feeling her as much as the other main characters in the other books. And I didn't like Jason Black at all. To me he was totally unbelievable, even for fiction. Every time he came on the page I cringed.

So why did I even give it three stars? Because there were a lot of good parts too. I loved all the witchy parts. I loved the setting, the descriptions, and the plot (for the most part). And I loved the two aunts, they reminded me of the two aunts in "Practical Magic". So I did feel like it did deserve a three at least.

Definitely NOT recommended for young readers!

  1. Yeah...Lisa Kleypas has a lot of sex in her books. I was actually surprised on how tame her first book in the Friday Harbor series was. It was still enjoyable.
