Abandon - Meg Cabot

5 Stars!!!!!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
New from #1 New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot, a dark, fantastical story about this world . . . and the underworld.

Though she tries returning to the life she knew before the accident, Pierce can't help but feel at once a part of this world, and apart from it. Yet she's never alone . . . because someone is always watching her. Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.

But now she's moved to a new town. Maybe at her new school, she can start fresh. Maybe she can stop feeling so afraid.

Only she can't. Because even here, he finds her. That's how desperately he wants her back. She knows he's no guardian angel, and his dark world isn't exactly heaven, yet she can't stay away . . . especially since he always appears when she least expects it, but exactly when she needs him most.

But if she lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself back in the one place she most fears: the Underworld.

MY REVIEW -
Awesome!!! I loved this book! It was very easy to get into it right away, I was so easily hooked. I would say that this is YA/paranormal/sci-fi at its best! This book is fun, interesting, suspenseful, had great characters with a great story-line!
Now, this book is fiction, it is not a book to be taken seriously. I kinda dissed a book a couple reviews ago for being very "real" then quickly turning to heave sci-fi. This book starts right out letting you know that it is paranormal, so I didn't have a problem with it.

The character development is great! Perfect, in fact. I loved the two main characters -
Pierce - a 17 year old girl who dies and comes back to life. But what she saw while dead was not a light at the end of the tunnel!
John Hayden- Love him! He is kind of like the leader of the "underworld" he sorts out where souls go after they're departed. Sounds scary? Maybe, but he is a great character!

A few quotes -
"What?' I said. I did not like the look on his face. "What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry," he said. He was frowning now. "Pierce, I thought you knew."
And then I heard his voice reminding me of how I had tripped and hit my head, had fallen in the pool and drowned, and that's why my clothes had been wet, and...
Dead. That's the main word I heard. I was Dead.
That's where I stopped listening."

"Oh, really?" he said, turning his head to glare at me. "How is none of this your fault?"
"All I did was die," I said. "And then, when presented with an opportunity not to be dead anymore, I took it. It wasn't personal. It had nothing to do with you."

Well to begin with, Meg Cabot is an amazing writer! But this is just so unlike anything else she has written! I love it! This is the first book in a series. I just ordered book 2. So as soon as I get it I will read and review it as well.

A HUGE thanks to my good great friend - Jen "At Random" for giving me this book!
