Kellie at Come-Alive Cottage, by Wendy Unsworth (Review & Giveaway)

5 Stars!!!!!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
Aunt kitty is a very unusual witch - every time she waves her magic wand something goes wrong! Come-alive Cottage is full of Aunt Kitty's gone - wrong spells, like the postman who has been turned into a Christmas elf, flowers that say 'sniff me!' and a watering can that gets grumpy when water goes up his spout!
And when her aunt starts making spells with snakes, Kellie Culpepper has to jump to the rescue!

This is the first adventure for Kellie at Come-alive Cottage and there are plenty more to come!

A fun, read-aloud story.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
Wendy Unsworth was born and raised in Lincolnshire, England; her passions are her family, travel, beautiful gardens and reading and writing stories. Wendy lived in Ndola, Zambia and Nairobi, Kenya throughout the 1980's and early '90's before returning to the U.K. to acclimatise back to the English weather in a Cornish cottage close to Bodmin Moor! The African continent has left a lasting impression; The Palaver Tree, her first novel in the Berriwood series is set in a fictional Central African country and Cornwall. At present Wendy is working on the second Berriwood novel, Beneathwood, re-introducing cameo characters from The Palaver Tree and telling their own individual story. Wendy also enjoys writing for children. Kellie at Come-alive Cottage is a fun, read-aloud story introducing Kellie Culpepper and her very unusual family who include explorers, a very silly aunt and a witch that can't stop turning into a cat! The next in the series, Danger at Come-alive Cottage, will be out soon.

MY REVIEW -
Absolutely adorable! I loved this book from beginning to end. Every page is a fun adventure into this magical place. This story is so much fun to read I know kids will love it.

Even for a short children's story - this has great character development! I really felt the characters "come-alive" lol (pun intended).Kellie is such a sweet little girl and I loved reading about her and her magical Aunt Kitty! So much fun! I love magical books so this one was especially great for me.

And the pictures in this book are so cute thanks to illustrator Frances Lee West.
"Twinkly things filled the air as if someone has just opened a tube of glitter and sneezed at the same time. As the twinkly things faded away, there was Aunt Kitty, a short, quite round lady with a lovely smile and... whiskers!"

I can't wait to read the next book and follow Aunt Kitty's adventures.
