Angels in the Snow - Melody Carlson

4 Stars!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
The recently widowed Claire Andrews is mourning the deaths of her husband and young son who were killed in a boating accident. Grief-stricken and angry with God, Claire, a professional artist, finds she is no longer able to paint. In her sorrow, she flees to an isolated cabin in the Cascade Mountains to find solace and healing, and hopefully, her talent again.
As Claire walks through the woods each day, she discovers two sets of footprints in the snow-an adult's and a child's. Although Claire desperately wants to believe that the prints belong to the loved husband and child she has lost, discovering the true identity of the ones who make the tracks will reawaken romance and restore her faith.

Melody Carlson has written around 200 books for teens, women and children. That's a lot of books, but mostly she considers herself a "storyteller." Her books range from serious issues like schizophrenia (Finding Alice) to lighter topics like house-flipping (A Mile in My Flip-Flops) but most of the inspiration behind her fiction comes right out of real life. Her young adult novels (Diary of a Teenage Girl, TrueColors etc.) appeal to teenage girls around the world. Her annual Christmas novellas become more popular each year. She's won a number of awards (including the Rita and Gold Medallion) and some of her books have been optioned for film/TV. MY REVIEW -
I really liked this book! I knew I would like it because I like Melody Carlson, but I think I liked it even more than I thought. It started out pretty slow but I didn't even mind. It was just one of those easy-going nice flowing kind of books. It wasn't really meant to knock your socks off.

I loved the characters in this story! They were very real. And once again It was one of those books where a woman in need of starting her life over after a tragedy goes off to be alone in a remote cabin in the woods - LOVE! I wish I could do this, but without the tragedy. I really liked Claire, she had a great personality and I think we would have been friends. And even tho I am not a dog person - I loved the dog in this story! It was a very nice touch.

And finally- Tah dah - It had a GREAT ending!

This was a book that has been on my shelf for a couple years and have been wanting to read it.
