Fun Friday!

The RAT (24 hr. Read-a-thon) is coming up April 26-27. I skipped the last two RATs because of conflicting "stuff".
But - I think I might try to do it this time!
Which means... Holy cow! I need to start thinking about books! As usual I will read mostly YA and Novellas. If you have any suggestions let me know!!!! They have to be gripping stories, not the kind that put you to sleep.
And I have to plan the snacks. This part is actually easy. I just do a bunch of semi healthy finger food.
Veggie tray and dip, M&Ms, trail mix, mixed nuts, deviled eggs!, and sushi!!!!

This year I am doing it a little different. In the past, the daughter would come over here and do it, but this year - I am going over to her house! She has to work for about 3 hrs in the morning, but I will just hang at her place and read while she is at work.
She is also going to supply the sushi (or maybe her hubby is). That is another thing that will be different. I think she is going to see if her husband want to join us and read for a while.

So... please comment with your book ideas, I will consider all of them!
I hope to have my list of books ready by next week, or at least started.

I will also be doing a contest again! (a $20. Amazon GC!!!)
So be on the look-out for that coming up.

The link for the info is - HERE
They haven't started doing sign-ups yet, I'll let you  know when they do.

  1. Have you read Dear Mr. Knightley yet?

BTW, do you have a list of your reviews. I wanted to see your Lisa Wingate reviews.

    1. No I have not read - Dear Mr. Knightley, is it a quick easy read?

I used to list my reviews for a quick click-n-go, but it was a lot of work and I didn't think anyone was really using them. Maybe I should start doing it again.

  2. Aye! This read-a-thon scares me! 24 hours?! I barely have an hour to read with everything going on.

Maybe I'll sign up to be a cheerleader? Yes, I'll do that. I've always wanted to try this read-a-thon but I simply don't have the time to devote myself to it. So...cheerleading will be the best option for me :)

    1. Yes you should be a cheerleader, they are always looking for more cheerleaders.

  3. Here are my book recommendations for you:

The Selection by Kiera Cass. It's not a fast-paced thrill ride, but it kept me interested enough to read it in one sitting.

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. My favorite YA/MG contemporary of ALL TIME. Again, not fast-paced, but quirky and fun!

Now, if you want something that will keep you reading on the edge of your seat, then I suggest: Reboot by Amy Tintera, Legend by Marie Lu, or...

wait for it....you know it's coming....can you guess what it is? Destroy Me + Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi (and I know you haven't read these yet because you told me so!) So there's your book and novella being delivered to you on a silver platter :)

    I hope my suggestions help!

  4. If you enjoy dystopians, I recommend Corridor by Robin Parish. I did not want to stop reading that book - soooo good! I could loan you my Kindle copy if you want. ;)

    2. It is short and one of the few books I've reread. :)

I hope you like it if you decide to read it! Just send me an email when you're ready to borrow it.
