Imperfect Love - Rebecca Talley (Review & Giveaway)

 4 Stars!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
Lauren Wilson is well on her way to her happily-ever-after. She’s passionate about her career as a middle school English teacher, she adores her handsome, hard-working husband, and with a baby finally on the way, her perfect life is within her grasp.

But then a devastating test result changes everything.

Forced to choose between her baby and her husband, Lauren makes the only decision she can live with, and she returns to her small hometown in hopes of rebuilding her shattered life.

Ethan Campbell is a gifted photographer who travels the world and has no desire to settle down. When his mother dies, he must go home to settle her estate. Then it’s back to exciting adventures across the globe.

When Lauren crosses paths with Ethan, her teenage crush, old feelings resurface—feelings she’s not prepared to face. Will Lauren have the courage to trust again or will she spend her life alone?

Imperfect Love is a story about sacrifice, healing, second chances, and discovering that although love isn’t always perfect, sometimes it’s the imperfect love that’s the sweetest of all.

MY REVIEW -
This was a very nice, easy reading, pleasant story. There wasn't anything earth shaking, there really wasn't any suspense, and it was kind of predictable - but STILL a very enjoyable read. This book is kind of like a walk in the park - no roller-coasters, no scary monsters, no tears, just a nice clean story.

The one thing that stuck out to me was - there was excellent character development right away. It didn't take you half the book to feel the characters, I felt them in the first chapter. And... I disliked Paul, the husband, immediately. Even when he was trying to be nice, he just sounded condescending to me and rubbed me the wrong way. I hate guys like that.

Another thing that I loved about the book was that Lauren was a teacher and she was teaching about the Holocaust. All the bits and pieces that the author added about the holocaust was very interesting. I loved going back and forth between Lauren's personal life and her teaching the children.

To me, the ending was OK. On a personal level, as a Christian, I didn't agree with it. But it didn't ruin the story for me.
* Minor spoiler - I think one more chance should have been given, since he was willing to try.
