Prejudice Meets Pride by Rachael Anderson Book Cover
5 Stars!!!!!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie’s hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome new neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.
Fun, compelling, and romantic, Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn't afraid to show him that he doesn't. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
Rachael Anderson A USA Today bestselling author, Rachael Anderson is the mother of four and is pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. She can't sing, doesn't dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.

MY REVIEW -
I read this book in one day! Not because it is too short, not because the words are really big,  and not because it was too easy to read, but - because it was just THAT good! I don't know what it was about this book that made it so darn likable. Maybe it was the fun easy to follow storyline? Maybe it was the ever so likable characters? Or maybe it was that it really warmed  my heart? I think it was everything put together!

The storyline was so addicting. I love the whole "broken down eyesore house, fixing it up" thing. And the fact that is was a woman doing it - Booyah!
To be honest, Emma's character got to me at times (but thats what I liked about it - it got under my skin) Any woman who doesn't have a job, needs food, and has two young nieces to take care of should just suck it up and allow people to help her! And if a guy ever offers to mow your lawn - for Heavens sake - let him mow it! Especially a single good looking guy! Emma was soooo darn stubborn I kept yelling at the book! I love it when a book does that to you.

Here is a good quote -
"You don't have to be strong all the time, and it doesn't make you less of a person to need help once in a while. Give and take is what life is all about, and sometimes you have to be the one to take so the other person can give. ~ I like that.
I don't very often give a book like this a 5 star rating (a chick-lit-ish book) but I just couldn't get enough, it was so darn cute and fun to read. It left me with tons of smiles!

Thank you Kathy at "Book Blasts and Blog Tours" for providing this book to me for free in exchange for an honest review.

  2. That's the mama in you talking. That maternal instinct that says, "Come what may. I will do what I must do." I'm like that.

Great review though. This sounds cute.
