Fun Friday - Can we talk?

In case you've noticed, I've been slightly MIA lately. No Fun Friday's, only 1 or 2 reviews a week.

Well here's what's going on -
We are preparing to move!

We are moving FROM upstate NY -
TO central PA -

This is a big deal for us. We have lived in our house for over 18 yrs.

The reason - The hubby has been working in PA for about 4-5 yrs now in the "oilfield" -

He started out as  haul truck driver (like Ice Road Truckers) and he was on the road all the time and in motels so it didn't matter where he lived. But about a year ago he got a promotion and now has an office job (within the same company) so he is home (to his apt. they give him in PA) everynight... and I am home here in NY everynight, he only gets home to NY twice a month for a weekend. - it just doesn't make sense anymore.

So we have decided to make "the move" We are selling our house (hopefully) and will look for a house down there. We would like to be in by the fall, but it all depends on selling our NY house.

In the prep to sell the house I have done some major sorting, cleaning and pre-packing. I am only leaving the stuff we will absolutely need in the next 6 months. Everything else will be packed and put in a storage unit in PA awaiting our arrival. Over the summer I will probably be in NY half time and PA half time.

I will keep you updated as to the status of the big move. Things will be a little slow here as I am VERY busy! I will try to still do at least 1-2 reviews a week, but honestly I just have not had the time to read! I know right!!???

Please pray for us that our house sells soon and everything goes smoothly!

Start spreadin' the news, I'm leavin' today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New York, New York

I want to wake up, in a city that never sleeps
And find I'm king of the hill
Top of the heap

These little town blues, are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York..New York

New York...New York
I want to wake up, in a city that never sleeps
And find I'm A number one, top of the list
King of the hill, A number one....

These little town blues, are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York..New York New York!!!
Oh my gosh! I love him!

    1. LOL. If you wanna sell it for $1. :) Unfortunately our credit is crap, so we'll never be able to buy a house. Breaks my heart, cuz I hate renting, but we're lucky to have anything really. And, no car to get there. I am sure someone will fall in love with it!!

  4. Oh Wendy! I'm so glad that you are moving closer to your husband and knowing that this is the right thing to do.

I am praying that it all goes well with the sale of your gorgeous house and that you guys would be able to find a home soon.

    Keep us posted!

  5. We're just about in the same boat, you & I, Wendy. After living all our lives in the Land of Lincoln, we've decided to get out of Illinois (a survey recently said 50% of us Illinoisans would live in some other state if we could!) --- mostly for my health.

We're stuck between a rock and a hard place. My husband and son like it HOT! So they want to move to Florida. My son's fiance doesn't care where we live, just as long as we end up in the same place. She's a sweetheart.

And of course, I want to go back to northern NM, where I enjoyed 2 pain-free weeks in April. I'm right now in the process of booking the cabin I stayed in before, for the entire month of Feb, so I can pre-scout the real estate market before my husband & the kids come out to join me at the end of Feb.

This is all overwhelming for me, so I know what you're going through. Best wishes and prayers for a successful relocation! Your friend, CC
