MY THOUGHTS -
I listened to this from Audible so my review will be both about the book and about the reader.

This book puts the cozy in "cozy mystery". This was a nice sweet mystery/romance that is light on the mystery but heavy on the cuteness. A very clean, fun, quick read (or listen in my case).

Great character development. I really liked Amelia (love that name!) she was sweet, smart, firm but didn't have a "bad-ass" personality. She seemed nice, like someone I would befriend. I enjoyed getting to know her and look forward to more!
I loved Rick, right away. Now he is a man who knows what he wants (Amelia, LOL) and goes after it, but is not forceful. He is nice, understanding, supportive, and a little romantic. The kind of guy I like.

This book/audio had a lot of references to the movie "South Pacific", which I loved. I have seen the movie. It's not one of my favorites but I do like it and could remember all the references. It was fun.
I also loved their "bucket list". Some of the things on Rick's were Parasailing, Safari, and Trekking through the rain forest. I have never made a bucket list. There are some things that I have been wanting to try - zip lining, for one! I hope to do it this summer. PA has several places you can do it.
Do you have a bucket list? What's on yours?

I have read a couple of Linda's books before (the historical fiction series) so when Linda asked me if I would like to try an audio, I jumped at the chance. I have been wanting to do more audios anyway.

OK so now for the reader - I liked her, but didn't love her. This is pretty typical for me! I very rarely find a reader that meets my expectations. They don't usually sound like I pictured the character to sound like, and this was the case here. But I thought the reader did on OK job, definitely not the worst I've heard.

I have told Linda that I would love to listen to the next in the series so come back for the next audio review of - The Shamrock Case.

Thank you Linda for sending me this audio version of your book for my honest review.

  1. Hey! I think this is the first audio book review that I've seen you write. I like it! I liked how you gave your thoughts on the book AND the reader. They are in fact two different things :)
