And the Angel Cried: The Miracle of an Abandoned Baby in 1955 - Gale Frances

5 Stars!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
This story is both heart-wrenching and heart-warming - it is a story of God's miracles and Divine Intervention upon a 14 year old hunter in 1955 who found a 2-5 day old infant baby thrown over a barbed wire fence and left to die in the woods of Indiana - she survived because the Hand of God refused to let this little lamb die that day!

The hunter was my husband, Dave Hickman. The baby was shrouded in secrecy after she was found and my husband's family could never know anything about her. After she was adopted he and his grandparents (and then later he and I) searched for 58 years to try to find her again.

The search was fulfilled on December 21, 2013 when a retired sheriff who we had contacted found her. They were reunited in Richmond, Indiana on May 4, 2014 with CBS New York, Indianapolis and Dayton recording the event. A story was printed in Reader's Digest in their November 2014 issue. CBS "This Morning Show" broadcast the reunion and also placed the video on You Tube. As of today, there have been 3,932,594 views, with the count rising daily. The story has been documented around the world.

Following the plea of viewers to know more about Dave, our search and our family, the book has now been written. To learn more about the book and the story please go to our website: www.andtheangelcried.com

MY THOUGHTS -
What an amazingly inspirational story! To think that this is a true story, that this really happened. In today's world full of horrific news headlines - murder, abductions, rape, natural disasters and terrorism there comes this story of hope and love. It's just amazing!

This book is not only about finding the baby and what happens after, but about Dave's life and a beautiful love story. A love story between Gaile and her husband Dave, how they met, got engaged, married and what a wonderful life they have had together. It's about hope and through faith in God and His guidance, never giving up. It's about the love of a family, the love for that baby, and finally their great and strong devoted love for God and Jesus!

"Gale Frances" lives in the same small eastern TN town and development as my mother! It was my own mother who told me about their story and about Gaile and Dave and the baby. Then my mother told Gaile about me as a book reviewer and that's how we hooked up. In the book it talks about an earthquake that happened in CA and then in TN in 2014, I think it was. I remember my mom telling me about that earthquake in TN! It is kind of funny reading a book with events that are so close to you, that you have a connection to.

This was a very interesting read indeed! And one of the most heartwarming and hopeful inspirational stories I have read! It truly was a miracle. If only all stories could have happy endings.
