MY THOUGHTS -
This book was not exactly what I expected, but I liked it! This book is what I would call "very usable". It gives you step-by-step instructions on how to do a "getaway with God". But I think really you could use this for so much more. There are some great ideas in here for a woman's retreat, Mother/Daughter weekend, anything really! It doesn't have to be just a solo getaway.

I love how it goes into detail about all the prep work, getting your family on board, goal setting, what to pack, a schedule or design, and concerns. Then a day-by-day of the actual getaway. There suggested ideas of what to do or think about on each day. At the end of the book there are even optional ideas and how to plan a group retreat.
 
—Where should I go?
—How long should I stay?
—Will it cost a lot of money?
—Should I fast?
—What would I do? Pray the whole time?
—Do I need a structured plan?

I really think if you can actually get away by yourself (or with a friend or family member) this would be a great idea! I would love to go away with my daughter and have a getting closer to God Weekend.
