5 + STARS!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
Melvin is known for being a sad…(ish) robot. But, as he finds new friends and experiences, he may just figure out how to be happy…(ish).

ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
Joshua Margolis is an artist and educator living in the San Francisco Bay Area. By day he spends his time teaching ceramics to the children and adults of San Francisco, and by night he works on creating monsters and robots out of clay. His work has been shown in many galleries throughout the country, and can be seen each First Friday at his studio FM in Oakland, California. He recently was the Artist in Residence at the de Young Fine Arts Museum, where he brought his Monster and Robots Project to sculpted life.

Check out Joshua and his work on his web page - HERE

MY THOUGHTS -
Well this book is just adorable (and not ish - it really is adorable)! It's about feeling lonely, sadness, and being afraid to try new things. There is a great little lesson to be learned.

There are great pictures! These robots are so cute - the toaster dog was my favorite (and I am not even a dog person!).

I hope this is only the first of many Melvin the robot books. I would love to see this become a series.
