ABOUT THE BOOK -
What we think and believe determines who we are. If that’s so, then why are we so insecure, defensive, lonely, empty, fearful, depressed, self-absorbed, dysfunctional, angry and confused? We are a mess. But that’s not what God has in mind for us.

In fact, the Master has hope, strength, beauty, joy, love, creativity, freedom, power, peace, patience, goodness, laughter, organization, effectiveness and purpose for us. So, what went wrong?

We lost our identity in our sin. We’ve become unanchored, tossed about on the sea of a million influences, none of which is our Master’s heart or mind. Between the world, the flesh and the devil, we don’t know what to think and therefore our lives are filled with hurt, pain and regret. Someone is running the show in our minds and it’s not us, at least not the real us, nor the real owner.

Jesus is not okay with this. He died to save us from our sins and set us free. He made a way for our souls to be rescued from our enemies. He bought the territory of our minds and planted His flag of holy ground.

It’s time for us to get angry enough to take back control of our minds, to master them and bring them back in alignment with the Master’s will. It’s time to return to The Master’s Mind.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR -
Lance Hahn is the Senior Pastor of Bridgeway Christian Church in Rocklin, California. He loves reading and teaching God’s word. At the age of six, Lance was diagnosed with a panic disorder. He knows what it’s like to be afraid and how to live with anxiety. He shares this journey in his first book How to Live in Fear: Mastering the Art of Freaking Out. In it, he shares personal stories and offers tools for thriving through fear and guides fellow sufferers into a life of faith and trust in a God who has not forgotten them.
Outside of leading Bridgeway and uniting churches in the Sacramento region, Lance is a popular speaker who loves to write articles, blogs and books in his spare time. In his free time, Lance is a movie buff and a collecting-nerd. He loves to collect trading cards, comic books, old vinyl records and other various 'treasures'. Lance is married to his wonderful wife, Suzi. They have two incredible daughters and they round out their home with a tri-colored Cavalier King Charles named Bella.

MY THOUGHTS -
Well this book was just the kick in the pants that I needed! I have been a Christian all my life so none of this was new to me, but it was that ever needed nudge to - keep on! I do try to put God first in my thoughts but really how often in today's world do we as Christians do that.

I found my self nodding my head and saying yes I need to do that - all through the book. I need more God in my life and in my thoughts and this was just the book I needed. I belong to two bible study groups and I am going to recommend this book to all of them.

I loved the chapter on resisting temptation.

"Some temptations are too tough to make it through unharmed, and thinking that you are stronger than you really are is a recipe for disaster. Although I don’t believe avoidance is more holy, I do believe it can be more effective. You need to know when it’s time not to negotiate but to flee.

There are some temptations you aren’t going to win. The wise know when to resist and when to run. When in doubt, get out of there-fast. Too often we play around with temptation, believing we are in control of the situation. We rarely are. Thinking that we are smarter than the enemy is prideful and stupid.

The Bible says that pride sets us up for failure. The minute we think we are above temptation , we are done. Satan will use our pride every time to lure us into a problem area, because we think we are above it. We stop being alert. Pride goes before the fall." 

I JUST LOVE IT! So true!
This book has so much good stuff to offer. I could sit here and quote half the book to you. But you should just go out and get it yourself. This is the kind of book I think I will lend to all my friends and then just keep referring back to over and over! Its a keeper!
