Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster - Michelle Nelson-Schmidt - Usborne Books & More

Whenever Jonathan James finds himself in a new situation, he hears his Whatif Monster asking all kind of questions to stop him trying something new: What if it’s scary? What if they laugh? What if it’s hard?  Finally, Jonathan James has some questions of his own: What if they don’t? What if it isn’t? What then?

I live in Lilburn, Georgia and I have the great privilege of getting to be an author and illustrator for children. After about 10 years eeking my way towards that goal while working full-time as a mother and graphic designer, I am finally doing it full time.
When I am not traveling I am busy being silly and having fun with the loves of my life – my husband Kevin, my son Noah, my daughter Sophia and our two crazy dogs, Piggy Pie and Otto Von Schmidt. They are all my everything and I love them more than bees love flowers!

I love a children's book that teaches you something, And this is a great one!
This story goes through a bunch of "what if..." scenarios. Trying out for the team, meeting someone new, trying your hand at art, just to name a few.

But then about half way through, Jonathan James wises up and he says "Wait a minute!!" LOL I love that part!

This book teaches that if you give in to the "whatifs" you just might be missing out on a lot of good things! What if you actually succeed? What if you don't fail?

This book is a great teaching tool to help your child, grandchild, classroom children, or whoever - gain self confidence. Trying new things doesn't always turn out bad. If we give in to our fears we may be missing out on some pretty good things. Give all your worries and fears to the whatif monster instead!

I voluntarily posted this review after receiving a copy of this book from an independent consultant of Usborne Books & More Thank You!!

There is an adorable plush that goes along with the story.
"Hugging this soft, cuddly, lovable Whatif Monster plush toy will help make worries vanish - no ifs, ands or what ifs about it!"
I was told by my Usborne Books and More consultant that the author,   Michelle Nelson-Schmidt, created this plush so that when children have worries (what-ifs) they can give them to the monster and he would hold on to them so the children wouldn't have to hold on to them any longer! Isn't that sweet!!!

But wait! There's more!!!
Sit down with you child and watch this video of the author reading the book!
