ABOUT THE AUTHOR -

Loren Loving is a litigation attorney and former political activist – notably she defeated 5 opponents in her party’s primary race for the Ohio State Senate and also created new law in America when she recovered unprecedented pain and suffering damages for the wrongful death of an unborn child. Loren has been very active as both a board member and volunteer for many charitable organizations.

In addition to law school and graduate training in remedial reading specialization, Loren attended one of the best Bible universities in the United States for her undergraduate work and then for many years sat under the teaching of one of America’s finest, internationally known pastors. Despite years of biblical studies and years of church attendance, still Loren thought all Jesus offered her was an invitation to heaven. Personal tragedies finally drove her to find His healing voice. For over 25 years, including 8 years on the mission fields of Europe, Africa, India, and Israel, Loren has shared the vital message of the intimacy and power of God’s voice. Now she offers it to you.

Loren is the mother of 2 adult daughters, has 4 grandchildren, is currently a First Amendment & First Commandment rights advocate, and is also an equine assisted healing counselor and advisor.

MY THOUGHTS -

This is a wonderful and very thorough book. Full of scripture - this was my favorite part of the book. So many books like these do not reference the Bible. I love that this one does, on every page!

Not a book to be breezed through. This is one that you are going to want to take your time with. I have to admit - I did not read the whole book yet, but I do intend to. I just want to take my time and do it right. There is a lot of wonderful information and spiritual help here!

One really fun part of the book is the 8 "Journeys" in the middle of the book.
For example - Journey 1 - Silent Cries
A suggested prayer
Worship song suggestions and questions about how the song made you feel
A short story/visualization
A song
Scripture meditations
Life Principle
Seek Truth questions

This is all on just 3-4 pages, so it is not as long as it seems and there are 8 of them.

I loved the one chapter towards the end - Pray without ceasing in the light of Thankfulness (Give thanks to Him no matter what). I had just finished teaching this to my Afterschool program kids (K - 6th grade). Parts of this chapter would have been great for me to use. I will have to see if there is anything I can use in the future. This is definitely an Adult book but I do think parts of it can be geared down for use with youth groups!

I highly recommend this book, but (and the reason for the 4.5 stars) only if you really have to appropriate time to dedicate to doing it correctly, otherwise I don't think you would get as much out of it.
