Angela Porter is a New York Times bestselling illustrator and a self-taught artist. She finds inspiration in nature, Romanesque and Gothic architecture, early Celtic art, prehistoric art and monuments, OS maps, satellite images of the Earth, and the universe in all its wondrous glory. Much of her intricate work is abstract with whimsical and imaginative elements, rich with flowing lines that create textured and detailed designs. A special needs science teacher for more than 27 years, Angela relaxes with her art and also by playing the flute and is learning how to play the electric folk harp. She has done more than half a dozen coloring books for Dover Publications, as well as numerous titles for other publishers. She lives in South Wales, Great Britain, with her "crazy" white cat.

Tranquility -
Namaste. I am Diane. I was born and raised in the Southern Okanagan, B.C., Canada. I am a self taught, self educated artist. Some of my favorite teachers (via books and other media) were: Joseph Campbell. Lynn Andrews, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola, Drunvalo Melchizedeck and Nasseim Hareim. My passion is to share some simple basic teachings I learnt in my quest to know what life is about and how to live. I continue to seek new ways of being in harmony with Mother Nature and universal laws of energy.

MY THOUGHTS -
These are both fantastic, beautiful and top quality coloring books.
I am a very artsy and craftsy person. I do lots of art in my home (painting, drawing, mixed media, etc.) I am very picky about my products. So when I say that these are great coloring books - you know I have done my homework.

Both have very detailed pictures. I personally don't care for coloring books with a repeating pattern (these are boring and un-creative to me). On the other hand I like coloring books with pictures.
Entangled Forest has gorgeous fantasy like forest pictures with plants, flowers, birds, rainbows etc.
Tranquility has beautiful fantasy like flowers that could almost be orchids or irises. No repeating patterns in either of these books!

Both have thick cardstock pages that are perforated for easy tear out for hanging up or framing.
And a huge bonus - both of these are just over $5. on Amazon! Seriously, that is a steal! I am used to paying like $20. for something of this quality.

Here is a page that I started coloring from the Tangled Forest book.

The trees with apples - I used Prismacolor pencils and gel pens.
The bird and mountains - I used markers.
The rainbows - I used Inktense watercolor pencils and then activated them with water.
The paper was able to take all three and they all look equally great.

Here is a picture of the other side - As you can see, the markers and watercolor pencils bled through a tiny bit, but did not transfer to the other page :-)

Here are some more sample pictures -

I went on Amazon to look this company up (Creative Haven) and... OMG!!! There are so many gorgeous coloring books! I want them all!
Here's a link to the page, they are all between $4. - 6. - HERE
I think I might just order a few more!

I voluntarily posted this review after receiving a copy of this book from Dover Crafts  Thank You!

Mimi has moved the Bibliophile Group to Facebook since Goodreads drove us nuts. I am currently taking a break from the group. Hopefully I can return towards the end of the year.
