Relative Silence by Carrie Stuart Parks - GIVEAWAY!!

5 STARS!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
A powerful family with lots of secrets. A forensic artist with his own tragedies. And a hurricane drawing bearing down on their private island.
Fifteen years ago Piper Boone’s only child died in a boating accident, and Piper’s almost perfect life came to an end too. After living through a divorce and losing her job, she retreats to Curlew Island and her childhood home—a secluded mansion for the politically powerful Boone family, who are practically American royalty.
But Piper’s desire to become a recluse is shattered when a mass shooter opens fire and kills three women at a cafĂ© where Piper is having lunch. The crisis puts her family in the spotlight by dredging up rumors of the so-called Curlew Island Curse, which whispers say has taken the lives of several members of the Boone family, including Piper’s father and sister.
Forensic artist Tucker Landry also survives the shooting and is tasked with the job of sketching a portrait of the shooter with Piper. They forge a bond over their shared love of movies and tragic pasts. But when police discover a connection between the shooting and two more murders on Curlew Island, they face a more terrible lineup of suspects than they could have imagined: Piper’s family.
Unraveling the family’s true history will be the key to Piper’s survival—or her certain death.

MY THOUGHTS -
Probably one of my favorite books of the year! This one was soooo good! It was very suspenseful, but also sad, heartwarming original and interesting.
I was so into this book. I had to put it down to water my garden - darn it for no rain!! Carrie Stuart Parks, where have you been all my life? This was my first one by her and now I want to read them all! And she has quite a few books. They are all going on my wish list.
I loved Piper, the main character! Definitely my kind of girl. I could see myself being friends with her. I also loved Tucker Landry <3   :-)  And Like I said, this is my first book by her so I don't know if they are in any of the others, but I would love to read more about them!
Man, does Piper have some messed up family members! You don't realize it at first. They just seem like your average rich spoiled bunch (except my girl, Piper LOL). But the more you got to know them, the more you disliked them.
This kept me guessing right up until the end. I kept guessing in my mind... maybe this person hmmm, no... maybe that person hmmm... no. I did, for a fleeting moment, guess the person/persons responsible but dismissed it - hmm I was wrong!
I did see a few things coming, but that's OK I didn't mind. It was such a good read!
One of my favorite quotes from the book -
"But to answer you, wherever you go, I'm tagging along. So is Piggy. In the words of Ruth, 'Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you.
"Where you go I will go," Mandy added.
"And where you stay I will stay," Tucker said. "I get the drift". - If you don't "get it" this is from Ruth in the Bible!
