Dead Tree Tales by Rush Leaming - with a GIVEAWAY!
ABOUT THE BOOK -
Set in
Charleston, SC, and the surrounding islands, police are called to investigate
the poisoning of a much-loved 1000-year-old tree, only to find evidence of a
more brutal crime. From there, the story explodes into a fast-paced,
multi-character thriller unlike any you\'ve ever read. Not for the faint of
heart...
“Dead Tree Tales by Rush Leaming is about a lot more than a dead tree. It’s a mystery. It’s a crime story. It’s a thriller. It’s a powerful comment on today’s society and politics… fast-paced, full of action and intrigue… It’s a real page-turner and just a fantastic read.” – Lorraine Cobcroft, Reader’s Favorite

MY THOUGHTS -
Mam, oh man! This is a book that will not leave my thoughts for a while. This story was intense, lots of action, jam packed with edge of your seat writing.
In the description it warns "not for the "faint of heart". I have to agree, there is some disturbing stuff in here, but - if you are not afraid of a little blood and controversy than this is definitely the book for you!
This book went in so many different directions, you would think it would be confusing, but it wasn't! That is the sign of a great writer. Just when I thought I had some of it, kind of figured out, it would spider web again taking me down another trail only to find out I was very wrong. All the spider webs eventually led to the center. Great ending... or should I say non-ending. Usually I hate a non-ending but in this case it was perfect. Definitely left me wanting more.
Great character development! Where do I start? Everyone had their issues, a backstory. All of them interesting and every one so well portrayed. My favorites were the detective duo, Elena and Charlie. They were a great pair. But, like I said both of them had their person problems, deep personal problems.
If you are looking for an interesting, well thought out, very well executed story that will both creep you out but keep you reading - search no further!
- Thank You!!
Great review, the content is why I chose to showcase instead of review. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
