GoodreadsMY THOUGHTS -
What a great book to use as a tool for mentoring, if you choose to do that. But, even if you are not ready to step up to that task, this is just a great book to use for your own walk with the Lord. There is lots of good stuff in here.
Some of the points she brings up in this book -
Spiritual multiplication - Remember that old commercial, it's some kind of shampoo. "If you tell two friends and they tell two friends and they tell two friends and so on, and so on, and so on..." It is amazing to think that just by sharing Christ with someone, you could be helping to bring 8 million people to the Lord! Mind blowing!
Make a list and work your way down (I love this list) -
- Assurance of salvation or understanding of the gospel
- Emphasize daily time in God's word
- Scripture memorization
- Prayer
- Fellowship
- Witnessing
- Meditation/application
- Faith
- Obedience
Working one on one with someone. Be emotional, be personal, get to know each other. Have fun together.
Use God's word. Keep a prayer list (again, I love this list!)
- Keep a prayer list and note all answered prayers
- Help them begin a prayer journal
- Maybe look at phone apps to help with prayer life
- Study Jesus's prayer life in the Bible
There are even several sample "Lesson Plans" in the back of the book, which I also love!
There's several other goodies and bonuses in here as well.
Bottom line... this book makes it look so easy! I do believe that one could be a spiritual mentor with use of this. It certainly got me fired up!
I am going to take this book to my Pastor and worship leader and see if we can use this book at our church. Maybe do a workshop or something.
I am going to take a closer look at this book and start doing this just by myself to see what it would be like, to try it out. then, who knows! :-)
voluntarily posted this review after receiving a copy of this book from Partners in Crime Tours- Thank You!
