MY THOUGHTS -
I love this author and loved her previous book – What They Don’t Know. And yet, I still could not believe how good this one was! Susan is just a cut above in my opinion. I don't think she could write a bad book.
To say that this book is suspenseful is an understatement! Holy cow! Edge of your seat? No, you are dangling at the edge of a cliff and looking over the whole time! I, all too quickly, devoured this one in two sittings. This is definitely worthy of reading a second time. Which I certainly will do.
Excellent character development. The main character, “the killer’s wife”, Kerry Grey, is pretty much a mystery the whole time. You just are not sure which side she is on. You desperately want to believe her… but… can you? And then there’s Lukas, the killer. Is he still out there like everyone believes? Adam Nash, a different kind of character, is a parole officer, and what does he have to do with all this anyway?
In the end this book will have you rooting for a very unlikely hero. And... be prepared for a mind blowing twist at the end that you won't see coming! Expertly written! If you read only one book this year – make it this one.
This will be my favorite book of the year, mark my words!
