Psycho Therapy by TG Wolff (with a GIVEAWAY!)
Diamond. One name for a woman who is faking it until she makes it. And she will make it. At least that’s what she’s telling herself.
Dr. Robin Ransom is a therapist to first responders, cops, and spies. She has a problem. She is being blackmailed via email by a nameless, faceless crook. Things go from bad to worse when the neighbor who helped deal with the threat is found dead and her newest patient tries water boarding her for information on the enigmatic Blue Devil. With no good options, she makes a desperate attempt at escape.
Diamond is a former CIA agent turned widow turned somebody whose services are most definitely not for hire. As she is struggling to figure out what is next for her, an intriguing case falls practically in her lap. From a video gaming Beastmaster in Michigan, to a suicide bomber in Virginia, to a psychiatric conference in the south of France, Diamond jumps in with her usual flair for destruction and chaos. But Fate isn’t satisfied, pushing Diamond into a position where it is either her or the person she cares for most.

MY THOUGHTS -
How often do you get to describe a crime thriller, as “a hoot”? But that’s exactly what this was. Lol, this book was a hoot!
There is a LOT of action in this book. Almost never a dull moment, action on every page. Which makes this a very fun and fast moving read.
Great character development, especially Diamond, the main character, I absolutely loved diamond! She was snarky, funny, a train wreck, and sometimes even rude, but definitely… A strong, kick ass heroine. I love this in a female lead character.
I loved the banter back-and-forth. The snarky, sarcastic, short, half joking banter was hilarious and reminded me a lot of the way my husband and I and my daughter and I talk sometimes. I know sarcasm is not for everyone, but it's who I am.
Just as I was wondering what the difference was between a psychopath and a sociopath and I was just about to look it up... The author answers my question.
“Psychopathy is, in general, a part of a person’s makeup.” She stroked her long hair, her face settling into professionalism. “It’s there from birth. Sociopathy is more often found in people who have survived traumas as a child. If Milan systemically traumatized his brother, he could have driven him into the psychosis.“
This is the only one in the series I have read - my bad. I should have read the first two. I did enjoy this anyway but I think I would have understood more if I had read all three.
Blackmailing, bombs, video games... and of course a more than healthy dose of sarcasm makes for a great fun read! Don't miss out!
