The Boat House - Keri Beevis

5 STARS!

ABOUT THE BOOK -

A dark secret. A deadly obsession. No place to hide.

Max Hunter, my boyfriend, booked the beautiful boat house on the Norfolk Broads as a surprise autumn break

A week away to heal after a fraught few months following my father’s death. A chance to put the lies and secrets behind us and to start afresh. But in the silence it feels like someone is out there. Watching, waiting and taunting me.

When strange things begin to happen, I know this isn't going to be the relaxing break it’s supposed to be.

As I become more jumpy, Max’s patience begin to wear thin. He thinks I am imagining things. But he doesn't know the huge secret I am keeping, so big it could destroy us.

I have every right to be fearful and I have to make sure he never finds out the truth. But what if I am already too late?

MY THOUGHTS -

OH! No wonder I loved this book - I've read this author before! See my review of The Sleepover - HERE  I feel silly but I didn't even realize. I thought her name sounded familiar. Well I loved this one even more than the Sleepover!

In a word - Suspenseful! No wait... Amazing! Hmm OK two words - Amazingly suspenseful! This book has got that hook right in the beginning. There is no way you are able to start reading and not just want to read all day.

I know I say this about a lot of books but - this would make such a great movie! The visuals I got while reading this were so vivid. It was like I was watching the whole thing in my head.

This book had great flow. The switching between past and present was flawless. And each was just as good and just as suspenseful.

Great character development. Like wow. Not a lot of characters so you really get to know everyone personally (even if you don't really want to).

You know exactly who it is and you know (kind of) what is going to happen, but that does not take away from the story or suspensefullness. Even though I knew who was terrorizing them I still had questions. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time grabbing at every word.

Expertly written. Suspense at its best! I can't wait to read more by this great author! I am right now going to putt all of  Keri Beevis' book on my wish list.

I voluntarily posted this review after receiving a copy of this book from Rachel's Random Resources -  Thank You!!
