The House Sitter by Keri Beevis

5 STARS!

ABOUT THE BOOK -

She knows what she saw. But can she prove it?

After my relationship breaks down, I agree to house-sit my brother Dexter's posh apartment whilst he’s out of the country. It will give me some much needed head space.

Sitting on the balcony one sweltering summer's night in the midst of a power cut, I'm given a secret window into the lives of the residents in the opposite building, and I see more than I should.

I'm drawn to a man in the Penthouse and watch him closely; when a striking woman joins him on the balcony, I can’t tear my eyes away.

The following weekend a woman matching her exact description is reported missing. She’s not been seen since that fateful night.
When I go to the police, the man in the penthouse has a cast-iron alibi and denies she was ever there.

I know what I saw and I can’t let it go.
The deeper I dig, the more dangerous things become.
Someone is watching me too. Just how much can I trust the neighbors?

MY THOUGHTS -

OH so good! On the edge of my seat the whole time!

Here I was reading this book and it started getting real intense. I had forgotten who the author was and what it was about when I started, lol. I sneaked a peek at the cover. I laughed out loud when I saw that Keri Beevis was the author! Of course, that's why this book was so good!  That's how you know when you really do love an author. This was my 5th book by this author.

I was not in love with the main character at first but I did grow to really like her. There was something disconcerting about her though… maybe it was that she took her coffee black, lol.

I got to one point where I literally could not stop reading. The suspense was so heavy I had to know what it was going to happen next.

There were so many creepy people in this story! It made me wonder if my original thoughts were incorrect (they were incorrect). Everybody seemed eerily guilty of something… I just was not sure of what. And here I thought I had it ALL figured out… Silly me! I should’ve known better coming from this author. She sure does keep you on your toes!

I can not recommend this book and this author enough! UN-PUT-DOWN-ABLE! I will choose to read a book by Keri Beevis every time.

I voluntarily posted this review after receiving a copy of this book from Rachel's Random Resources -  Thank You!!
