This Book Made Me Think of You, by Libby Page
ABOUT THE BOOK -
When Tilly Nightingale receives a call telling her there’s a birthday gift from her husband waiting for her at her local bookshop, it couldn’t come as more of a shock. Partly because she can’t remember the last time she read a book for pleasure. But mainly because Joe died five months ago...
When she goes to pick up the present, Alfie, the kind (and adorably bookish) bookshop owner, explains the gift—twelve carefully chosen books from Joe, one for each month, to help her turn the page on her first year without him.
Her monthly trips to the bookstore—and heartfelt conversations with Alfie—give Tilly the comfort she craves and the courage to set out on a series of reading-inspired adventures that take her around the world. But as she begins to vlog her journey, her story becomes more than her own. With help from Alfie, her budding new following and her friends and family, can Tilly let her year of books show her how to love again?

Oh my goodness, what a wonderful story! This, very much, reminded me of PS, I Love You, which I LOVE!
Tilly “Matilda” lost her husband to cancer just five months before this book starts. Then she gets a phone call from a local bookshop telling her that she has a book waiting for her that her husband had ordered for her. Turns out her husband Joe ordered her a year’s worth of books, one book for each month, before he died. Each book comes with a letter from Joe explaining why he chose this book for her and how it reminded him of her.
A healthy mix of sad and sweet. Please do not read this book without a tissue in hand and a whole box sitting next to you. The author very nicely mixes past with present.
Through Joe’s letters each month along with the book that she is receiving, this is a trip down memory lane for Tilly and we are lucky enough to be able to go with her. Through these letters and books Joe also convinces her to take some trips that they had been wanting to do together. She goes to Bali, Paris, Italy, New York, even camping as well as running a half marathon. All because her of her late husband's letters and encouragement.
The ending... this is the kind of book that you close and just sit back and sigh. A beautifully written book with a few surprises. Who can resist a romantic book about books and bookshops and traveling?
