Fun Friday!

I was "tagged" by Melanie from "Christian Bookshelf Reviews" -
I am choosing not to do the "11 things about me", I will do them another time.
But here are the questions she asked -

1. Are you a night-owl or early-bird? Well I do stay up till 11 most nights, but I consider myself an earlybird - I get up at 5:15am. And even on the weekends I am usually up by 6:30.

2. If you were going to go on vacation and could only travel via airplane or ship, which would you choose? - Airplane definitely! Have you seen "The Titanic"?

3. Name your favorite holiday? - Christmas, of course!

4. Do you watch any reality shows? If so, which ones? - Hahahahaha, ummmm yeah tons!
Survivor, the Amazing Race, Celebrity Apprentice, American Idol, So you think you can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, Design Star, hmm maybe that's it.

5. What is your favorite genre to read and what was the last book in that genre you've read?
My 2 fav. are - Historical Fiction - last read - Song of My Heart, by Kim Vogel Sawyer
Chick-Lit - last read - I've got Your Number, by Sophie Kinsella

6. Which do you prefer - a snowstorm or thunderstorm? I Looooove Thunderstorms!!!!! I will actually go out on the porch and watch them.

7. If you could travel to any country, which would it be? - I don't really have much interest in traveling to others countries, I would rather travel to the states I have not been to - Alaska, Maine, Oregon, Washington. If I did have to choose a country, I would choose Antarctica!

8. What are the five songs you listen to the most? I don't really listen to "songs" because I don't have an ipod, I listen to CDs - I am going to change this and make it the 5 CDs I listen to most -

Pink- Fun House,
Creed- Greatest Hits
Train- Save Me San Francisco
Billy Currington- Doin' Somethin' Right

9. Do you have any phobias? - Spiders!

10. Who are your top three favorite authors? Stephanie Grace Whitson, Ted Dekker, Joshilyn Jackson

11. If you were stuck on an abandoned island for one year and could take five fiction books with you, what would they be? - I think I would choose 5 that I haven't read yet!!! LOL

This is my home town library -

Its very tiny, the whole front of the building is one big room. There is an office to the back right a bathroom in the middle back and a "work room" to the back left. On the left of the picture you see a wing coming out, that is the new Children's room. It was just built, I think 2-3 years ago.
A Public Library was first opened in our town on July 22, 1902 (in a different location).
This is the oldest building in our town built in 1826. The library moved into this building in 1925 after it was donated to the town.

  1. I agree. I'm a thunderstorms and Christmas girl. We were thinking about taking an Italian cruise on the same cruise line that crashed. That scrapped that idea. LOL

What a lovely library! So pretty and quaint. Do you donate your old books to them?

    1. I do donate a lot of books to them, yes. It is a very poor library!

And yeah - I am not a cruise kinda gal! I wouldn't be able to just let loose and have fun, I would always be thinking - crash? Titanic? LOL
I don't know - flying doesn't scare me. I hate airports more then I hate the actual flying!

  2. I also like thunderstorms, and like to lie on the bed and watch them out the window. I would also have to agree that Christmas is my favorite holiday, though Thanksgiving is a close second!

    1. No spiders there! LOL
Hahaha just an interesting place. I have read lots of books about the scientists who stay there and I would just love to go visit and take a tour!

  4. I love your library - how quaint. While all our locations aren't big, they are modern. I think we have about 25 libraries just in my city.

Hate, hate spiders. Even thinking about them freaks me out. Love thunderstorms - I'm hoping Sammy won't be freaked out by them this year.

Hey if you're heading to any new countries - try Canada. lol.

  5. My biggest phobia is snakes :(

I loved the pictures of your library because they remind me of the one in the town where I grew up. Up until the time I was in about 7th grade, the library was located in an old house that looked much like the outside of your library. I spent so many hours there, sigh...it was a great place. By the time I was in high school, it had been replaced by a modern brick building -- it had many more books, and an updated check-out system (it used to be all by hand, with cards having hand written due date), but much less soul.
