2016 all wrapped up!

Wow! I read so many great books in 2016! I think I had more 5 stars than any other year!
It will be very hard to choose some favorites. But I will try.

Here is the year broken down in stars -
3 Stars - 8
3.5 Stars - 2
4 Stars - 35
4.5 Stars - 19
5 Stars - 37!!!!

Isn't that incredible? I had more 5 stars than anything! It was a stellar year!
So you may ask, why no bad books? Why no 2 or 1 stars?
Simple - I don't read bad books! I don't have time!
I choose very wisely, I do my homework and research the book carefully before I agree to do it.
And once I start reading, if I am not enjoying it I write the publisher, author, or book promoter and tell them I am not enjoying it and I stop reading! I don't have time to read books I am not liking.

So now for my favorites.
I will pick my top 10 (or I will try, it'll be hard) of all the 5 stars.
These are in no particular order -

1. Turbulence - Alana Terry

2. The Nearly Girl - Lisa De Nikolits

3. Body and Bone - LS Hawker

4. Last Mile - Katie Ashley

5. If I Run - Terri Blackstock

6. The Boy is Back - Meg Cabot

7. The Bookshop on the Corner - Jenny Colgan

8. Student Bodies - Susan Israel

9. Clean Break - Abby Vegas

10. Life After Coffee - Virginia Franken

These are my favorite 4.5 star books -

Love Literary Style - Karin Gillespie

In The Blue Hour - Elizabeth Hall

Waking Amy & Leaving Amy (and yes I can do two together, its my list!) - Julieann Dove

Bullet in the Blue Sky - Bill Larkin

There are only a few 4 stars I will mention -

The Opposite of Everyone - Joshilyn Jackson

In My Arms Tonight - Sasha Clinton

Escape to Redemption - Peter M Parr

So there you have it! My best picks of the year. It hardly seems fair there were so many I didn't get to mention!

If you have an "End of the year" post let me know and I will come check it out!

  8. Why do you think you read so many great books? Are you better at curating books you'll love? I'm a lot more careful about what I read now than I used to be, and as a result, I love most of the books I read.

As a side note, Bookshop on the Corner sounds SO GOOD! I really want to read that one!
